LETU Center for Counseling

The LeTourneau University Center for Counseling serves our community with a singular focus on strengthening and reconciling marital and family relationships.

The LETU Center for Counseling accomplishes this mission through three practical initiatives:

  1. Providing comprehensive professional marriage & family therapy services to members of our East Texas community
  2. Partnering with LeTourneau University's graduate psychology programs and providing graduate-level professional counselor clinical supervision and education to train competent mental and relational health professionals to serve our East Texas community
  3. Promoting marital and family relationship health in East Texas through the strategic use of research, public relations campaigns, advocacy and community education

The LETU Center for Counseling provides a service for LeTourneau students and is an outreach ministry to East Texas. The center is comprised of professionally trained individuals embracing Christ and His worldview, certified and licensed through professional organizations in compliance with state requirements.

We seek to service area children, adolescents, couples and families through the provision of individual and group counseling sessions in efforts to break down barriers to spiritual and emotional health.

As a part of the clinical training provided to our students, the LETU Center for Counseling maintains practicum sites in Longview and Houston, Texas. These sites allow our students to work with clients in community settings under the supervision of licensed Christian mental health professionals. They also assist and enable individuals and families who are struggling with psychological and relational concerns in receiving affordable Christian counseling.

We are privileged to be a ministry of LeTourneau University, through whose support and graduate educational programs we are able to offer services to students and the surrounding community. Undergraduate residential students receive services at a cost that is covered through student fees collected each semester. Global students are eligible to receive low cost counseling at $25/session. Additionally, affordable rates make counseling more attainable to individuals and families in the greater Longview community who may not have the means to pay customary rates. We also rely on area church support, client fees, donations and the generosity of foundations in supporting this vital ministry.
