Dr. Kristina Nelson is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology and Counseling at LeTourneau University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas and is nationally certified. Before moving to Texas, she worked as a professional counselor in Florida from 2011 to 2016 in various clinical settings, including a children’s advocacy center, a residential treatment facility for pregnant and parenting teens, community agencies, and private practice. Dr. Nelson owns Compass Counseling & Community Outreach, LLC, providing counseling services for individuals, couples, families, and children representing diverse backgrounds and clinical concerns while specializing in working with survivors of child abuse and human trafficking. Dr. Nelson is the President of the Executive Board for the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend and is the founder of the Safety Compass Child Abuse Prevention Program.
