Jessie has a deep and abiding love for Jesus, and that love shapes every part of her life and work. She sees her role at LeTourneau as more than just a job—it’s a ministry. Jessie is passionate about walking alongside students as they navigate one of the most formative seasons of their lives. Whether offering encouragement, spiritual guidance, or simply a listening ear, she is committed to helping students grow not only academically, but also in their relationship with Christ. Her greatest joy is seeing this generation discover their God-given purpose and step confidently into the calling He has placed on their lives.

What drew you to serve at LeTourneau University, and how do you see God working in the lives of students here?

I was drawn to LeTourneau University because of its unwavering commitment to Christ-centered education and its unique mission to integrate faith and learning across every discipline. From the moment I stepped onto campus, I felt a sense of purpose and community that reflected the heart of Christ. What inspires me most is seeing how God is actively working in the lives of students—shaping their character, deepening their faith, and equipping them to serve in their future professions with excellence and integrity. Whether in meetings with students and their families , during campus events, or through quiet conversations, I witness the Holy Spirit moving in powerful ways as students grow into who God created them to be.

What do you love most about walking alongside students as they discover their calling and prepare for the future?

What I love most about walking alongside students is the privilege of witnessing their transformation as they discover who God has created them to be. I find deep joy in encouraging students as they seek God’s direction, wrestle with big questions, and begin to uncover their unique gifts and callings. For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than watching a student grow in confidence—not just in their academic abilities, but in their identity in Christ. I consider it a sacred journey to support students as they prepare for the future, trusting that God has a purpose and a plan for each one of them, far beyond what they can imagine.

How has your own college or faith journey shaped the way you guide students today?

My own college experience was a pivotal time in my life—both academically and spiritually. It was during those formative years that my faith in Jesus truly became my own. Through seasons of uncertainty, growth, and deepening trust in God, I learned the importance of having mentors and leaders who offered both wisdom and encouragement. Those experiences left a lasting impact on me, and they continue to shape how I walk with students today. I understand firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with the college years, and I am passionate about being the kind of steady, faith-filled presence I once needed—someone who listens well, prays faithfully, and points students to the hope and purpose found in Jesus.

What advice would you give a student who is nervous about stepping into this next season of life?

You don’t have to have it all figured out—just be willing to trust the One who does. I love to remind students that it’s okay to feel uncertain, but fear doesn't have to lead the way. God is already ahead of them, preparing the path and walking alongside them every step. It's a joy to encourage students to lean into community, stay grounded in prayer, and keep their hearts open to how God might move—even in the unexpected. I believe that with faith, courage, and a willingness to grow, this new chapter can become one of the most meaningful and AMAZING seasons of their lives.

In your view, what makes the LeTourneau community special, and why should students feel excited about joining it?

I believe what makes the LeTourneau University community truly special is its intentional blend of faith, learning, and genuine relationships. At LeTourneau, students aren’t just numbers—they’re known, valued, and supported by faculty and staff who care deeply about their growth. It’s a place where conversations about calling, purpose, and faith happen naturally, not just in chapel, but in classrooms, offices, and around campus. I love the way students are challenged to pursue excellence while also being encouraged to walk closely with Jesus. New students can feel excited about joining the sweetest community and family that will not only equip them for their future careers but will also walk with them as they discover who they are in the Lord and how He is calling them forth for such a time as this.
