It is estimated that 800 million of the world's farmers live on less than one dollar a day. Most of this money is generated from small-plot farms, typically less than five acres in size. For many of these farmers, irrigation poses a major problem, since they lack an efficient way to irrigate their land quickly. Due to lack of capital and information, many of these farmers irrigate their plants by carrying water in a bucket from its source to the plants. This method severely limits productivity and farming income. A solution to this problem has the potential to move these farmers out of extreme poverty.
To bring glory to Christ by developing an irrigation system that empowers farmers from Senegal to increase their earning potential and household food security.
