Effective with the Fall 2014 semester, LeTourneau University will no longer require proof of health insurance for enrollment, and will no longer offer student insurance plans. Existing plans will remain in effect through July 31st, 2014. Any charges assessed to students who have already opted into the school's plans for Fall 2014 during registration will be removed from their accounts.
LeTourneau University does encourage students to carry health insurance and will provide a list of health insurance vendors that students can refer to for assistance with locating a health insurance provider. Health insurance is an important asset to students. It both eases the financial burden of health care expenses and meets the federal requirement for health care coverage.
The information below is being retained as a reference for students still on a plan that has not yet expired. It will be removed after July 31st.
LeTourneau University requires all traditional students, domestic or international, enrolled in six or more credit hours to have health insurance to cover the costs of medical treatment for injury and sickness. For students not covered by their own or a parent or guardian's insurance, we have partnered with Academic Health Plans to provide coverage, billed to the student's account. Students are automatically enrolled in the AHP plan unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished by the 12th day of class each semester. After the 12th class day, all premiums are non-refundable.

Notice: Optional coverage for dependents is available through AHP, but premiums for that coverage must be paid directly to AHP (they cannot be billed to the student's account). Enrollment info is available at www.academichealthplans.com/letu or by calling 855-247-2273.
