LETU School of Aeronautical Science Begins Move to Airport

Cardboard boxes abounded at LeTourneau University’s School of
Aeronautical Science as it began moving into its new facility at East Texas Regional Airport
today. The move is expected to take about two weeks for moving the classroom and offices into
the new 55,500-square-foot facility at 200 Airpark Drive. The contents of LETU’s airplane
hangar will be moved will begin later in the summer.
Renovations have been underway since last summer. About 30 faculty
and staff will have their offices at the new facility which will serve about 250 students studying
aviation in the fall.
This new facility unites the school’s aviation program all at one
location for the first time since the mid-1960s” said Fred L. Ritchey, dean of the School of
Aeronautical Science.
A public dedication ceremony will be held in the fall.
