"Christmas Carol Concert at the Belcher Center” will be held at
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, in LeTourneau University’s S.E. Belcher Jr., Chapel and Performance
Center, 2100 South Mobberly Ave. The concert will feature Christmas music performed by the East
Texas Symphonic Band and a mass choir from several of Longview’s downtown churches. The event is
free and open to the public.
The concert is presented by LeTourneau University, First United
Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, First Christian Church, First Presbyterian Church, Trinity
Episcopal Church and the East Texas Symphonic Band.
“The concert is a Christmas gift to the community,” said Belcher
Center Director Cynthia Hellen. “We all really hope people will come and enjoy themselves.”
Choirs from the sponsoring churches will combine to form the mass
choir. Attendees are invited to sing along with their favorite Christmas carols. Anyone is welcome
to join the choir onstage to participate in the performance, but those planning to do so are asked
to attend the rehearsal at 5:45 p.m. in the Belcher Center.
