Thursday, May 2

  • 2:45pm - Commencement Rehearsal: We will meet in the Education Building, review instructions for commencement and then do a run through walking over to Belcher Center and crossing the stage. Traditional students participating in graduation MUST be in attendance at this rehearsal. Contact Mrs. Kathy McGuire if you have a valid reason for missing this rehearsal.

Friday, May 3

  • 9:30am - Senior Breakfast (MSC 3rd floor): An invitation will be sent out closer to graduation. Reservations are due by May 1, 2013. Please send R.S.V.P to Wanda Sammons for reservations.
  • 1:00 - 3:00pm - Engineering Labs Open House: On behalf of the Design Committee, guests are invited to visit all Engineering labs in Glaske, Machine Tool, Civil Engineering, Materials Joining and Senior Design areas.
  • 4:00pm - Ivy Cutting (Belcher Center mall-side plaza, by the Servant Statue): For students and their families. Attendance required of all graduates. Dress for the occasion is Business Casual.
  • 4:30pm - Senior Reception (Belcher Gym, Solheim Center): All family members and guests are invited. The reception is to honor graduates and their families and is hosted by the Faculty and the Office of the Provost. Tickets are not required.
  • 6:00pm, Seating begins at 5:30pm - Senior Banquet (Solheim Arena) - Tickets Required: The banquet will be a special opportunity to be inspired by faculty and fellow students and to spend quality time with friends and professors over a great meal. Also during the banquet, graduation honor medals and IMPACT leadership awards will be presented. To mark this celebration, the University will cover the costs for the graduate and up to two guests (3 free tickets), and up to 4 additional tickets per graduate may be purchased. Students need to visit the cashier in the business office to pick up their free tickets or purchase additional tickets for the banquet. The cashier is open from 9:00am to 4:00pm.     • Additional Adult Tickets: $14 each
    • Children's Tickets (ages 5-10): $6 each
    • Children ages 4 and under are FREE but a ticket is still required
    • Tickets are available for pickup and purchase beginning April 1, 2013.
    • Deadline for reservations is 4:00pm Monday, April 22, 2013.

Saturday, May 4

  • 7:30am - Cap & Gown Pick Up: When you enter the lobby check in with the ladies who have the 3x5 registration cards. You will receive a card with your name and your chair number for the line-up. Proceed to the boxes that have the graduation regalia and present your card to the attendant to receive your cap and gown. There is a rental slip enclosed in each gown package that you will need when you return your gown after the ceremony is complete. When graduation is completed you may keep the cap and tassel but you will need to return your gown.
  • 8:30am - All graduates report to the lecture rooms in the Education Building for final instructions
  • 9:00am - Commencement (Belcher Center)
    All guests should be seated by 8:50am to allow us to clear the aisles for the faculty and graduate processional.
    If you have a guest attending that will require handicapped seating, click here to download a handicapped seating form. Your completed form can be returned by email to KathyMcGuire@letu.edu or faxed to 903-233-3851. We are only able to accommodate 1 or 2 guests to be seated beside the person in the wheelchair.

Saturday, May 4

  • 10:00am - Cap & Gown Pick Up: (Solheim Arena, Solheim Recreation Center)
  • 10:30am - Academic Honors & ASL Recognition Ceremony (Solheim Arena, Solheim Recreation Center): A brunch will be provided in Solheim Recreation Center from 10:30 - 12:15 for graduates and their guests. At this time graduation honor medals and ASL recognitions will be presented. This is a special time where we recognize students who have achieved academic honors and members of Alpha Sigma Lambda. During this time graduates will be given the opportunity to show appreciation to that special someone who supported them while working on their degree. This is a great opportunity for students to visit with fellow students and faculty
  • 12:30pm - Hooding Instructions (Steudler Conference Room, Solheim Recreation Center)
  • 12:40pm - Processional Line-up and Final Instructions (Steudler Conference Room, Solheim Recreation Center)
  • 1:00pm - Commencement Ceremony (S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center)
