Kelly Liebengood, PhD

Dr. Kelly Liebengood was appointed the Director of the Center for Global Service Learning in the spring semester of 2012. Dr. Liebengood has lived, studied, and served in Chile, Costa Rica, Egypt, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Italy, England, and Scotland. As Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies, he directs the Physical Settings Course in the Department of Theology, in which students learn about the Bible, history, and culture while visiting Greece, Turkey, and Israel. In addition to English, Dr. Liebengood speaks Spanish. He can also read Italian, French, and Portuguese.

Dr. Liebengood earned his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He has edited a volume entitled Engaging Economics, which explores the relationship between New Testament Theology and economic practice in the early church. He also serves as a member of the steering committee of the Catholic Epistles for the International Society of Biblical Studies.
