The fresh start rule applies to former LeTourneau University students who return to the University after an absence of at least three years and whose prior academic records were below acceptable standards. A student with this circumstance may petition the Office of the Provost for implementation of the fresh start rule. If the petition is accepted, the cumulative GPA for the previous LeTourneau University work will be suppressed, allowing the student to begin studies with a fresh GPA.
All grades, credits, and courses formerly taken will remain on the transcript. Graduation honors will be determined by considering the full cumulative GPA of all course work attempted at LeTourneau, including the GPA for the previous LeTourneau University work that was suppressed prior to the beginning of the Fresh Start Rule.
