About Longview

Longview, Texas is a city of over 70,000 people located two hours east of Dallas and one hour west of Shreveport, La. It is the county seat of Gregg County, which includes a span of piney woods.

Longview serves as a central city for smaller, nearby towns. Longview has a symphony, public library, museums, movie theaters, a community theater, an opera, two hospitals, a mall and several shopping centers. The city is also host to an annual balloon race. Nearby are several lakes where fishing and camping are favorite pastimes.

Mild winters, and colorful springs and autumns make Longview a pleasant place to live. Enough rain falls to keep the plants and trees green for most of the year. But many of the days are clear and full of blue skies and sunshine.
