MSC NIGHT - RULES
Foosball
1.    A coin flip decides who gets the first serve. After each goal, the individual who was scored upon serves.
2.    A ball off the table is put back into play be the person who last served.
3.    A ball which is dead between the goal and the two-man-rods is put back into play by placing it in the nearest corner.
4.    A ball which is dead anywhere between the two-man-rods is put back into play by a serve from the individual who last served the ball.
5.    A ball entering the goal shall count as a point, as long as it was legally scored. A ball which enters the goal but returns to the playing field is still a point.
6.    The first side to score ten points wins.
 
Billiards (Eight Ball)
1.    Whoever (1) wins or (2) is ahead after 12 minutes, is the winner. In the case of a tie situation, the next pocketed ball determines the winner.
2.    Call Shot. Obvious balls and pockets do not have to be indicated. Bank shots and corner shots are not considered obvious. It is the opponent’s right to ask which ball and pocket if he is unsure of the shot. When calling the shot, it is NEVER necessary to indicate details such as the number of cushions, banks, kisses, caroms, etc. Any balls pocketed remain pocketed.
3.    Legal Break Shoot. To execute a legal break, the breaker (with the cue behind the headstring) must either (1) pocket a ball, or (2) drive at least four numbered balls to the rail. If he fails to make a legal break, the incoming player has the option of (1) accepting the table, or (2) having the balls re-racked and shooting the opening break himself.
4.    Scratch on a Legal Break. If a player scratches on a legal break shot it is counted as a loss.
5.    Open Table. The table is "open" when the choice of groups (stripes or solids) has not been determined. When the table is open, it is legal to hit any solid to make a stripe or vise-versa. The table is ALWAYS open after the break shot.
6.    Choice of Group. The choice of stripes or solids is not determined on the break even if balls are made from only one of both groups. The choice of group is determined only when a player legally pockets a called object ball after the break shot.
7.    Legal Shot. On all shots, the shooter must hit one of his group of balls first and (1) pocket a numbered ball or (2) cause the cue ball or any numbered ball to contact a rail. PLEASE NOTE: it is permissible to bank the cue ball before contacting the object ball; however, after contact with the object ball, an object ball must be pocketed, or the cue ball or any numbered ball must contact the rail. Failure to meet these requirements is a foul.
8.    Foul Penalty. Opposing player gets cue ball in hand. This means that the player can place the cue ball anywhere on the table (this does not mean behind the headstring). This rule prevents a player from making intentional fouls which would put his opponent at a disadvantage.
9.    Balls Jumped Off the Table. If an object ball is jumped off the table, it is a foul and a loss of turn, unless it is the 8-ball, which is a loss of game. Any jumped balls are spotted back on the table.
10.Playing the 8-ball. When shooting at the 8-ball, A SCRATCH OR A FOUL IS NOT LOSS OF GAME if the 8-ball is not pocketed. Note: A combination shot can never be used to legally pocket the 8-ball.
11.Loss of Game. A player loses the game if he commits any of the following infractions:
a.Fouls when pocketing the 8-ball.
b.Pockets 8-ball on the same stroke as the last of his group of balls.
c. Jumps the 8-ball off the table.
d.Pockets the 8-ball in a pocket other than designated.
e. Pockets the 8-ball when it is not the legal object ball.
f. Scratches on a legal break.
12.Note: all infractions must be called prior to the next shot taken, or it will be deemed that no infraction occurred.
 
Ping Pong
1.    P-I-N-G Rally for serve.
2.    After 2 points have been scored, the receiving player becomes the server. This continues for the rest of the game.
3.    The winner of the set must reach 11. If they are tied at 10, the first player to go up by 2 wins. A player MAY lose on a serve.
4.    After the conclusion of a set, the players must switch sides of the table.
5.    Serves must contact the table on both sides of the net.
6.    A serve that hits the net and still falls in play is re-served.
7.    When rallying, the receiving player may not return the ball until it has touched his/her side of the table. If the ball is returned before the end line or before the ball has reached the table, it is the opponent’s point.
8.    The match is over when a player wins two sets.
 
Sweepstakes:
Every participant will earn 1 point for participation.
The champion will earn 10 extra points and the runner-up 5 for each event.  A floor cannot earn both champion and runner-up points.
A floor can earn a maximum of 5 participation points per event (total of 15 for the evening).
