My name is Christian Lehman and I serve as the Residence Director of South Hall (our newest and recently opened hall on campus) and International Student Housing. I am also the Coordinator of Sustainability overseeing the University's fledgling recycling programs. I previously served as the RD for Thomas Hall as well as a Career Counselor. I have been at LeTourneau since 2006.
I graduated from Goshen College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. I received my master’s degree in cultural anthropology from Indiana University. In 2000, I married my wife, Krista, and then we spent the next five years serving as Residence Directors at Bethel College, in Mishawaka, Indiana, before coming to LeTourneau. We have a son, Samuel.
I was born and raised in the Marshall Islands and have lived throughout the world, including the United States and Indonesia. Because of all the travel I have been part of, I have been privileged to experience the breadth of God’s earthly kingdom. When I can, I like to hang out with the residents, travel to new places, learn languages (I speak four), play racquet sports, read non-fiction, sail and enjoy all that life has to offer.
I like to think of my role as a residence director as being a bridge between what the university has to offer and developing the gifts and interests of the individual student. I enjoy the student interaction through prayer and mentoring that I’m honored to be a part of; this is what makes my role as a residence director more than a job, but truly a ministry.
