Searching for a Graduate School:

• Begin your search early
• Start with online search engines such as Graduate Schools.com and The Princeton Review
• If you are wanting to live in a specific area, contact and visit colleges/universities in that area

Once you have a list of possibilities, narrow your choices by doing the following:

• Call the admissions counselor to ask questions that are important to you (housing, location of university, safety, etc.)
• Contact the department to ask program specific questions
• Exclude programs from your list that do not offer what you are looking for or do not meet your expectations
• Visit each campus on your new list (and remove any from the list that do not meet your expectations)
• Apply to universities still on your list (you should apply to more than one program to increase your likelihood of admission to a program)
