Office of the Provost

At LeTourneau we pursue rigorous academic questions in light of the wisdom and wonder of God’s world and ways as offered in Scripture. And we do so not just as an academic exercise, but for the aim of human flourishing; for the good of our neighbor and to the glory of God.

Welcome to our community of builders.

Welcome to LeTourneau University! This is a special institution with outstanding faculty, staff, and students. We consider it a high honor to serve a university with such a strong history and reputation for excellence in academics coupled with intentional Christian formation—both inside and outside the classroom. At LeTourneau we pursue rigorous academic questions in light of the wisdom and wonder of God’s world and ways as offered in Scripture. And we do so not just as an academic exercise, but for the aim of human flourishing; for the good of our neighbor and to the glory of God.

Just like you, every university has a unique story; a saga, if you will, about a set of gifts and experiences that culminate into a distinctive calling. The exciting tale of LeTourneau University began in 1946 and leads to the present as the Christian Polytechnic University within higher education. We are a comprehensive university because we offer areas of academic expertise across the broad range of disciplines—from the arts to engineering. And yet, our institutional saga has always centered upon our talents in technology and innovation, a reflection of our founder. We understand that today all fields in the 21st century are impacted and shaped by technology, and so we pursue each academic area with this in mind. Our institutional story calls us to.

Most importantly, we pursue academics and campus life as a Christian enterprise, a spiritual endeavor. Our university story is part of the larger story of God’s mission in the world. So we strive to fulfill the original meaning of a “uni-versity”—where a diversity of subjects all point, together, to the one Triune God; for “from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things.”

So, if you are a student looking for a place to be challenged academically and nurtured spiritually, build your story here. If you are a gifted scholar-teacher looking for a place where academic ministry and discipleship are part of the job description, build your story here.
