The following information outlines the four-year degree plan for LeTourneau University's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The nursing program comprises 121 total credit hours (67 hours of general education, theology, and prerequisite courses plus 54 hours of nursing courses), including hands-on clinical learning experiences.
Course objectives and assignments have been developed based on the Texas Board of Nursing Differentiated Essential Competencies, Rules and Regulations, and Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association practice and professional standards, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials.
During the freshman and sophomore years of study, students of the LETU nursing program are considered pre-nursing students. After completing the nursing prerequisite courses (listed below) during the freshman and sophomore year, students must apply to the School of Nursing.
Following completion of prerequisites and acceptance to the LETU School of Nursing, students will be considered nursing students and will begin the clinical portion of their training.
