Mechanical Engineering Entry Preparation

The best preparation for engineering studies is an excellent background in high school math and science, including:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Algebra /Precalculus
  • Trigonometry
A strong background in algebra, pre-calculus and trig is actually more important than an introductory course in calculus… we can teach you that here.

The basic entrance expectation is four units of high school English, two units of algebra, one unit of geometry, one-half unit of trigonometry, and one unit of science (chemistry or physics). Both chemistry and physics are highly desired.

Success in college courses is related to a number of factors, including background preparation, study skills, effort, motivation, and perseverance. High school coursework preparation is important, but certainly not the only factor related to success in college. We do want to see you succeed and will do everything we can to help you accomplish the task that the Lord has set before you.
