Dr. Philip Coyle

Dr. Philip A. Coyle is a licensed as both a professional counselor and a marriage and family therapist. He has provided over 40,000 hours of direct counseling services to couples, families, groups, and individuals. He has also directed several human services programs such as outpatient clinics, a foster care program, private counseling practices, and hospital pastoral care departments. He was commissioned as a United States Air Force Officer in 1981.

Dr. Coyle’s research focuses on healthy family functioning with particular emphasis on the structural, behavioral, and process characteristics of well-functioning families and couples. He has much passion and energy for the teaching profession, neighborhood revitalization, and experiencing transformation and renewal in people, relationships, and institutions. “Much of our life is skewed toward pathology, yet we have so much to celebrate, so much potential to be transformed – to be fully alive in Christ.”
