Dr. Palacios has served in the English Department at LeTourneau University since 2007. He has an M.A. in English as a Second Language from University of Texas – Pan American, and a Ph.D. in English, specializing in Rhetoric and Linguistics, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
"In our early married life, God led my wife and me to work as missionaries in Mexico for a couple of years, then later in other areas of service (both in educational settings and mission church work). Since then, I have been involved in Christian education for over twenty years, teaching English, Spanish, ESL and teacher training courses in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). We are grateful for God's leadership even as we serve Him at this time of our lives in East Texas."
Dr. Ignacio Palacios, bilingual in English and Spanish, loves teaching languages and linguistics related courses. As a second language learner himself, Dr. Palacios can empathize with the needs of other second language learners as he teaches international ESL students at LeTourneau University and as he trains future TESOL teachers.
