Paganism, Creationism, and Intelligent Design
While visiting the rural villages in the Republic of Umurtia, Russia on a mission trip, I noticed the synthesis of Paganism and Christianity, especially among the Greek Orthodox believers. Their folklore, including creation myths and gods about Nature, leads them to the acceptance of their cultural heritage as well as to a New Age Philosophy sustaining their faith. Using the Christian presuppositions of Creationism and Intelligent Design, I witnessed to these nominal Christians as an entrance to explore the gospel of Jesus Christ by recognizing the true Creator, God the Father, and Jesus as the Center of all things by which all things hold together, and the role of science in Intelligent Design. This seminar will be a discussion of evangelical methods using the discipline of scientific thinking as well as thinking Christianly.
