Background
My parents were missionaries, so I grew up overseas. Nine years of my childhood were spent in Seoul, Korea, and four years in Manila, Philippines. I graduated from high school from Owatonna Christian Schools in Owatonna, Minnesota. After high school, I attended LeTourneau University, where I majored in aviation technology. I have been flight instructing since 1992 and have given over 6,500 hours of flight instruction.

- In the fall of 2009, I received a faculty development grant to attend an Aviation Accident Investigation course conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board.
- In the fall of 2007, I was awarded a faculty improvement grant to attend a National Business Aircraft Association Safety Systems.
- In the fall of 2005, I was awarded a faculty improvement grant to attend a National Transportation Safety Board course on fatigue in accident investigation.

- I conducted a pilot study into the transition from glass to traditional cockpits, 2007.
- I investigated the transition to glass cockpits, spring 2006.
- I researched the use of GPA as a predictor of pilot success, summer 2005.

To my students,
I pledge that I will give you my best effort as your flight instructor by:
- Modeling a proactive, safety-conscious approach to aviation.
- Preparing for each and every lesson with you.
- Holding you to the standards of performance set forth by the FAA while encouraging you to perform to the best of your ability.
- Providing you with an honest assessment of your progress and performance.
- Reading one new book each year that will help me improve as a teacher.
- Reviewing at least one flight publication each year to keep current.
- Practicing maneuvers on my own time so that I can demonstrate them properly and to standards.
- Encouraging you to pursue excellence in your life, especially in the area of aviation.
In all I do, I will work with all my might, for this is my act of service to my King.
