Financial Aid Information

Attention 2012-13 FAFSA Filers:  If you have not filed your FAFSA for the 2012-13 year and plan on enrolling Fall 2012, please do so as soon as possible. Contact the financial aid office if you have additional questions.

Update to Freshmen SAP Policy: To continue to receive federal financial aid for the12/13 academic year, freshmen must meet the following criteria:

  1. Have a minimum CGPA of 1.5 at the end of the first year.
  2. Complete 50% of all attempted classes at the end of the first academic year.

Being accepted to college is exciting! Figuring out how to pay for it is not. That’s why our Financial Aid staff is dedicated to helping you afford a LeTourneau University education. More than 97% of our students receive some form of financial aid, and we try to provide financial assistance to students who otherwise would be unable to attend.

Forms of financial aid range from gift aid (scholarship and grants that don’t have to be repaid), student loans and work study programs, to a combination of these. Don’t let the price tag keep you from a LeTourneau education — the only way to find out if you qualify for student aid is to apply. For more information, look around our web site through the links below and at the top of the page.

Don’t forget to check out scholarship programs available through community organizations, corporations, and your church and school. You can check on the availability of such aid through your guidance counselor, church and parents’ employers.

The Financial Aid Office at LeTourneau University adopts the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrator's code of conduct (pdf) for institutional financial aid professionals.

New Verification Requirements

For the 2012-13 academic year, if you are chosen for verification, you must provide a tax transcript from the IRS to LETU (a signed 1040 form is no longer acceptable proof of tax information).

Below are the various ways you can complete the Form 4506-T and request your tax transcript:

  • Complete and submit the form online
  • Download the form via the IRS website and send by mail or fax (see instructions, address and phone on page 2)
  • Stop by the LETU Financial Aid Office and we will provide the form and fax for you.

For additional information or clarification from the IRS, call 800-829-1040 and follow the automated instructions.

Fax your tax transcript to 903-233-4302 or scan and email to finaid@letu.edu.  Call our offices at 903-233-4350 and let us know how we can help!
