EDUC 3343 Foundations of American Education and Culture

This course introduces students to the world of education. Students will have opportunities to develop an understanding of the historical, philosophical, and sociological foundations of U.S. public and private education, and their influences on current educational issues. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to contribute an informed voice in the democratic process affecting the quality of education and the teaching profession. This survey course is designed to assist students in affirming or modifying academic and career goals with respect to teacher education.
