LETU announces the promotions of Dr. Pamela A. Johnson to assistant vice president for Quality Assurance and Brooke Kincade to director of the Office of Student Success, effective Nov. 1.
Johnson will oversee the offices of Accreditation & Institutional Effectiveness, the Achievement Center, Institutional Research, and the Office of Student Success in her new role in Quality Assurance. These offices provide timely and accurate completion of reports to external entities (including state and federal government agencies), produce data and reporting to facilitate data-informed decision-making and support student success.
Johnson has served LETU since 2002 when she served as the educator certification officer, providing leadership in the university’s undergraduate, post baccalaureate and graduate educator preparation programs. In 2008, she joined the Institutional Effectiveness & Research office. Most recently, she has served as senior director of Retention & Institutional Research, assisting the Provost’s Office in developing a cross-departmental student retention plan and more robust internal reporting tools for administration. She earned her doctorate in education in 2007 from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in organizational and higher education leadership. Her master’s degree in education is from the University of Phoenix in adult education and distance learning. Her bachelor’s degree in English and mathematics were awarded by Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, where she completed post-graduate work in 1985 to gain her Texas teacher licensure.
Kincade has served LETU as Retention Specialist since 2011 and as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach since 2010. She earned her master’s degree in 2011 and her bachelor’s degree in 2009, both in Business Administration from LETU. Her experience as an undergraduate student, graduate student, and coach has proven invaluable for supporting student success. In her new position, she will lead the Office of Student Success as an advocate and ombudsman, serving all university constituencies to facilitate removing or reducing any academic and non-academic barriers that hinder student success.
