Alma Mater & Degree: LETU - B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies
Word or phrase that describes you: Servant-hearted, yet independent
Hobbies: Running and working out, drinking coffee with my mom, finding recipes on Pinterest and never cooking them, watching TV series with my husband, our two dogs, and cat
Why I love LETU: LETU is in my blood! My dad works here, my mom and brother graduated from here, and my sister is next in line to attend. This university is a place where your greatest life-learning comes outside of the classroom through time spent with mentors, friends, and professors during their free time. Whatever your journey, faculty and staff meet you where you are to equip and encourage you to succeed in academics and spiritual growth. How wonderful it is to know I've not only received a college diploma but also a family in Christ at LETU.
What was your favorite class in college? Why? My favorite class was Romans (or really any Biblical Studies class). These classes were so eye-opening as to not only who these books were written to, but why they were written and for what purpose. Since taking classes over specific books, I've never read the books of the Bible the same.
What advice would you give to incoming students? Be flexible and ready to grow. Always be moldable, teachable, and willing to learn. That is the sign of a good student.

Dr. Woodring (course professor) showed the utmost concern for his students’ well-being, while at the same time holding us to a high academic standard.

LeTourneau University will feel very comfortable. My advice is to let yourself truly experience college life. Don’t let the ‘feeling comfortable’ hold you back. Bottom line, enjoy the experience!

We have such beautiful people on campus, and it only serves to show how good our God really is in His designs and what He does in the heart of those on this campus. At LETU, you can see miracles everyday if you allow Him to open your eyes.
What was your favorite class in college? Why? Oh my goodness...there were so many! However, the ones that probably stuck with me the most were the ones with Dr. Teel-Borders. She really pushed me to think critically, try something new, and not be okay with just a passing grade. I didn’t realize how lazy I was academically until I was in her classes. I’m so grateful to her for making me stretch!
What advice would you give to incoming students? Learn as much as you can! It’s going to be information-overload when you come in and while you go throughout your classes, but find ways to make everything you learn applicable to life. Listen to what the professors have to say because they have spent their whole lives learning! Also, do what you are passionate about, not what people tell you to do. God will use that passion to do His will for the Kingdom.

My professor was passionate about the subject, and the whole class was about how people learn best! We applied psychological theories about memory to ‘real life,’ and I learned how to study, test, and remember things effectively.
What advice would you give to incoming students? One of the best ways to succeed academically is to get to know the professors and let them know you. Most professors are there to invest in your life—so let them! Second, the best way to succeed spiritually and personally is to surround yourself with like-minded students who will encourage and challenge you.

What advice would you give to incoming students? View college as a transformational experience, and a critically important life decision. In other words, you should desire to be transformed not only professionally (as in, “I can get a job”), but also emotionally, relationally, and most important: spiritually. Seek God’s kingdom first; let Him determine your path, and do not rely on the logic of the world. If you or your parents search with absolutes in mind that haven’t been prayed about (like “I HAVE to stay close to home”), start by knowing God and listening to Him. When confronted with fears about the future, read 1 John 4:18.
