In today’s working world, writing skills have become a precious commodity. According to a report from the National Commission on Writing, writing is a “threshold skill” for hiring among salaried employees. At LETU, we know the value of effective communication, and we make sure our English students do too!
However, the Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature is more than just a “reading and writing” program. English majors at LETU hone the fine art of expressing ideas, of crafting words and phrases, in a way that speaks to other people.
Enjoyment and analysis of good literature remain essential parts of our program at LETU, where our students develop critical reading and thinking skills as they become well acquainted with the writings of significant British, American, and international authors, both classic and modern.
